The Marlo vase, and its rotund shape, is designed to hold large plants or bouquets of flowers.  The small and medium versions work well on coffee tables.  The large and XL versions are great for opposite sides of a doorway. 
 
As with all of our segmented pieces, you'll see the light reflect differently from all parts of the room.  The piece shown is soft maple and is finely sanded only.
